Welcome to the Golden Dragon Museum, the 'Chinese Cultural Centre of Australia'. The museum opened in 1991 to document, interpret and preserve the Chinese heritage in Australia.

Come, enjoy and learn about the Chinese experience of the Bendigo goldfields, from the past to the present. See the colourful display of the 'living' collection of the Chinese dragons and associated regalia used in the annual Bendigo Easter procession, to help raise funds for local charities since 1871.

The Golden Dragon Museum has a gift shop, tea rooms, education/conference centre, research library, Chinese Classical Gardens and Kuan Yum (Guan Yin) Temple.

We provide groups with guided tours. Our general guided tour presents the history of the Chinese in Bendigo and includes a commentary on some of the amazing artefacts in the collection.

We also offer special tours for secondary school students. These include: a Year 7 Ancient History Tour, a Year 9 Immigration History Tour and a VCE History Revolutions: China Tour.

All Museum and Garden tours are approximately 1 hour. Alternatively, we can arrange tours to the White Hills Chinese cemetery at additional costs.
